A sanctuary of support
At Epsom, pastoral care is a cornerstone of its educational philosophy, woven into the very fabric of the school. The award-winning pastoral care provides 360-degree support, with academic advisors, housemasters, specialist subject teachers, and counsellors working in tandem to ensure each student’s well-being and personal growth.

The boarding houses, each staffed with a dedicated team of at least seven adults at a time, offer the British boarding house system—a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where students can thrive, fostering a strong sense of community, belonging and lifelong friendships. The daily routine of boarders is carefully managed by the House Masters and House Mistresses, who provide guidance and support to help students develop independence, resilience, and emotional intelligence.
Exclusive to Malaysian families, Epsom’s Weekday Boarding Programme offers working parents and their children an ideal balance— the opportunity to fully focus on academic pursuits and professional commitments during the week while also enjoying valuable family time at home over the weekends. Students reside on campus Monday to Friday, immersed in academic focus, and return home at weekends via a complimentary weekly Kuala Lumpur bus service (departing Mondays at 6.30 AM, returning Fridays at 5 PM).

British education with a global outlook
Rooted in the rich heritage of Epsom in the United Kingdom, established in 1855, Epsom College in Malaysia carries forward a legacy of academic rigour and all-round excellence. This is no mere transplant of tradition; Epsom has reimagined British education for the modern era, embracing innovation and fostering a global outlook.
The curriculum, based on IGCSE and A-Level qualifications, is delivered by a dedicated faculty, 90 per cent of whom are UK-trained teachers, many from Epsom College in the UK, and PGCE holders from top universities. But, it is the remarkably low teacher-to-student ratio of 1:9 that truly sets Epsom apart, allowing for the personalised attention and tailored support that students need to flourish. Teaching staff cater to 650 day and boarding students, and the emphasis on individual development and attainment is palpable.
This commitment to excellence has been recognised with numerous awards and accreditations, including the prestigious Double Beacon Awards from the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), an accolade awarded to only six schools out of its 450 accredited schools globally and a testament to Epsom’s innovative approach to British international education and specifically its offerings in Student Welfare and Well-Being and Student Leadership Opportunities across the school.

In addition to this, Epsom is proud to offer the “One Global School, Two Campuses” concept, seamlessly uniting its campuses in the UK and Malaysia to deliver a cohesive global experience. This unique approach ensures that students, whether based in Asia or elsewhere, benefit from the same exceptional education and pastoral care standards. This dual-campus structure bridges continents and cultivates a diverse, interconnected community where collaboration across cultures thrives. By immersing students in an international environment, Epsom equips them with the adaptability, empathy, and global fluency needed to lead and succeed in an increasingly interdependent world.
With campuses in both the UK and Malaysia, Epsom offers a unified global experience, welcoming an international student body representing 30 different nationalities. The shared values and curriculum ensure that every student receives the same high standard of education and care, regardless of location. This approach strengthens the sense of community and connection, fostering a truly global Epsom experience that prepares students for success in an interconnected world.

Epsom’s commitment to holistic development doesn’t stop here. The “Epsom Live Talks” series is a platform for students to engage with top C-Suite level executives, gain valuable insights into the corporate world, and learn from their collective wisdom and global experiences. Some of these influential figures include Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed, Tan Sri Dr Tony Fernandes (Epsom alumni), Tan Sri Tommy Thomas (former Attorney General of Malaysia), Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik (President and Group CEO of Petronas), as well as David Dufrenois (former Head of Southeast Asia at Airbus).

Epsom’s ambitious Super Curricular Programme transcends traditional learning, empowering students to excel beyond the classroom through debate, nationally competitive essay contests, and intellectually driven societies. These platforms—led collaboratively by students and faculty—allow pupils to deepen subject mastery, articulate original ideas, and build portfolios that stand out in competitive university applications. Leadership is cultivated through roles in academic societies and initiatives like the Eco Society’s sustainability projects, the Magazine Society’s editorial teamwork, and the Sports Council’s event management.
Epsom’s Year 9 Student Exchange Programme is equally transformative, offering an immersive experience that sends students to partner schools worldwide intertwining academic study with cultural immersion. Whether navigating bustling cities or historic landscapes, students would engage in classroom learning, home stays, and community projects, fostering resilience, cross-cultural empathy, and fluency in global citizenship. Beyond language skills or passport stamps, the programme challenges assumptions, nurtures adaptability, and sparks a lifelong appreciation for diversity.

A gateway to global universities
The proof, as they say, is in the pudding. A remarkable 96 per cent of Epsom graduates are accepted into Russell Group and the G5 universities in the UK, gaining admission to top institutions worldwide, including Cambridge, Stanford and Brown. This success is further underpinned by the school’s forward-thinking curriculum, which includes immersion into cutting-edge fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Business, and Entrepreneurship. These programmes ensure students are equipped with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
All this wouldn’t be possible without the school’s dedicated higher education support team that provides specialised guidance on the complex aspects of university applications to help students secure placements at their dream schools. With an open door policy in place, students can access one-on-one support on their applications, including personal statements, targeted interview practice, IELTS, SAT, and internship opportunities with corporate companies and institutions across Malaysia, directly related to their intended undergraduate degree programmes, as well as an extensive support network in the UK and USA.
One example of Epsom’s commitment to academic excellence is top student Mun Yau C.’s achievement in 2024, among others. While many other students achieved the highest scores in Southeast Asia and Malaysia, Mun Yau secured the highest score in the world for A-Level Chemistry and the highest score in Malaysia for Physics.
