At 0:00 on 10 September, Vietnam time, Apple introduced a suite of new products, alongside additional AI-related features.

In recent years, despite facing controversies over incremental product improvements and a slower pace in artificial intelligence, Apple remains one of the world’s leading technology brands. According to technology reporter Kif Leswing, the event was streamed live on Apple’s official YouTube channel, attracting over 650,000 viewers, a clear sign that global consumer interest in the brand remains as strong as ever.

Alongside the highly anticipated iPhone 17 series, AirPods Pro 3, and Apple Watch Series 11, Apple also showcased its latest AI features, reinforcing its competitiveness against rivals such as Samsung, Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI.

AirPods Pro 3 feature real-time language translation

AirPods Pro 3, the latest wireless over-ear headphones, were the first product revealed at the event. Kate Bergeron, Apple’s vice president of hardware engineering, explained that the headphones offer impressive active noise cancellation while still allowing users to stay aware of their surroundings. This makes phone conversations in noisy environments clearer, with voices sounding natural and distinct.

The standout feature of AirPods Pro 3, however, is real-time language translation. According to Apple, the system goes beyond literal word-for-word translation, delivering natural intonation that is easy to understand. Users can speak normally, and the AirPods will translate smoothly during conversations with speakers of other languages.

Kif Leswing noted that real-time translation has become a key focus for leading technology companies. Google, for instance, recently introduced a feature allowing direct translation through phone calls.

The upgraded A19 Pro chip serves better AI tasks

Apple explained that the A19 Pro features a large cache architecture to accelerate calculations and data processing. Its graphics chip (GPU) is also enhanced with “machine learning accelerators,” improving graphics performance and AI capabilities.

Looking ahead, Apple’s marketing chief, Greg Joswiak, suggested that the chip could allow iPhones to run large local language models directly on the device.

Apple also stated that these upgrades enable the new iPhone line to handle graphics and AI tasks more efficiently, with computing power approaching that of the company’s MacBook Pro line.

Gradually, Apple appears to be making strategic moves to enter the AI field more fully. Compared with other tech giants such as Google, OpenAI, and Microsoft, many experts believe Apple has lagged behind. While Apple Intelligence currently supports mainly basic tasks, the company is reportedly exploring partnerships with third parties to integrate deeper AI functionalities into its products.

Nonetheless, Apple’s brand authority and its large base of loyal fans worldwide allow it to maintain a strong position in the technology sector, even without groundbreaking AI innovations, despite the increasing number of competitors.
