At the 2025 le Bal des Débutantes, the daughters of royalty, industry and artistry come together in Paris for an evening steeped in elegance and tradition
One of the most anticipated nights on the global social calendar is upon us again, with whispered excitement building around le Bal des Débutantes, scheduled for November 29, 2025. In Paris, the City of Light, this one-of-a-kind charity ball, led by founder Ophélie Renouard, once again brings together a carefully selected group of young women from distinguished families worldwide. The atmosphere promises to be glorious.
Year after year, this phenomenal event successfully combines fashion with a commitment to giving, supporting critical medical research for children with congenital heart defects. Its very existence speaks to tradition refined for the modern age, far beyond a simple introduction to society.
This year, the Philippines’ representative is Alexandra Cruz-Moxey. The stunning young woman, whose parents, Bernadette Cruz-Moxey and Patrick Moxey, are deeply immersed in the world of music, follows in the illustrious footsteps of her kababayan. “I spent a lot of time in Paris growing up, and I speak the language fluently, so returning to Paris on behalf of the Philippines is a full-circle experience. I am very excited and so grateful for it,” Moxey shares. She joins the ranks of past Filipina debutantes such as Paloma Urquijo Zobel de Ayala, the country’s first debutante, Dominique Cojuangco, Rocio Zobel and Atasha Muhlach, all of whom dazzled in the ball’s spotlight.

The 2025 roster is suitably world-class, mixing aristocracy with the Hollywood-adjacent set and the daughters of global business titans: “Lady Araminta Spencer Churchill is the daughter of the 12th Duke of Marlborough, Gabrielle Janssens de Balkany is the great-granddaughter of the last King and Queen of Italy, they rub shoulders with Royal cousins like HRH Princess Eulalia of Orleans Bourbon, HRH French Princess Isabelle d’Orléans and German Princess Eugenia Von Hohenzollern,” Renouard says via email correspondence.
Hollywood glitterati are in attendance, too. Bronwyn Golden Vance, daughter of the celebrated Angela Bassett and Courtney Vance, will step out, as will Ruby Kemper, granddaughter of the legendary hotel investor Kirk Kerkorian. The fashion realm is represented by Carolina Lansing, granddaughter of the inimitable fashion icon Carolina Herrera.

Global business families complete the remarkable assembly. Korean-American Sarah Bae is the daughter of international investment firm KKR’s Joseph Bae and the acclaimed author Janice Y K Lee. Reagan Sacks’s father is the South African-American “crypto Czar” David Sacks. Alice Wang’s father, Chuanfu Wang, and mother, Stella Li, started BYD, a renowned electric car company worldwide. Ella Wadia’s family presides over India’s oldest company, a lineage of commercial success. From a different corner of the globe comes Swedish Eliza Lindroth, the first debutante from the Bahamas, while Jillian Chan’s parents are in the movie business in Hong Kong. Eirini Zarifi is a descendant of a noble Greek family.
The matter of escorts is always one for delighted speculation. “A lot of the debs are to be escorted by their brothers,” says Renouard, with Constantin d’Orleans, Thomas Janssens de Balkany, James Bae, Magnus Lansing and Slater Vance in attendance. Others have enlisted friends, including The Hon. Albert Windsor, Kiran Soekarno, Alberico de Carpegna, Antony Meijer, Leo and Alexis Henckel von Donnersmarck, and the distinguished ski champion Gabriel Gledhill.

The gowns themselves constitute a significant spectacle. Couture houses are dedicating tremendous attention to these sartorial masterpieces. Dior, Olivier Theyskens, Schiaparelli, Armani Privé, Stéphane Rolland, Guo Pei, George Hobeika, Antonio Grimaldi, Luisa Beccaria, Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang, Chrome Hearts and Rick Owens are among the design titans dressing the young women.
The grand ball, which will be held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Paris, is set to be another unforgettable chapter in Paris’s high society annals.
