Clé de Peau Beauté partners with UNICEF to empower over 12.4 million girls through STEM education and local solutions that create global change
Recognising that women currently account for less than 30 per cent of the global STEM workforce, creating a notable gender disparity, Clé de Peau Beauté has joined forces with UNICEF since 2019 to tackle this challenge. The partnership is designed to equip girls with essential skills in STEM and expand their access to specialised training.

Since its inception, the collaboration has supported more than 12.4 million girls worldwide. In Vietnam, where women represent only 20 per cent of STEM educators and students, this pronounced imbalance increases the risk of displacement in an increasingly digital economy.
At the core of the initiative is the Skills4Girls programme, a series of context-specific efforts aimed at addressing gender inequality in STEM. These programmes prepare adolescent girls for the future by fostering 21st-century competencies, dismantling systemic barriers, and opening doors to dynamic careers in science and technology. A portion of sales from The Serum, one of Clé de Peau Beauté’s most sought-after products, ensures sustainable funding for these endeavours.

In early 2025, Clé de Peau Beauté travelled to Kyrgyzstan, one of the countries benefitting from the partnership, to witness its impact on the ground. In this Central Asian nation, just 9 per cent of students pursuing science and technology are girls. Skills4Girls is helping to shift that narrative by delivering STEM education alongside soft skills and leadership training to girls aged 15 to 17.

Naomi Kawanishi, Global Brand Vice President of Clé de Peau Beauté, reflects on the experience: “Through our collaboration with UNICEF, we are providing girls with the tools they need to flourish. In Kyrgyzstan, we’ve seen for ourselves how transformative these programmes can be beyond mere statistics. The training sessions and interactive learning opportunities are helping participants to cultivate real expertise in STEM, while also nurturing critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership, instilling confidence at every stage. By blending technical ability with essential life skills, our partnership not only prepares girls for careers in STEM, but also empowers them to shape their own futures and drive meaningful change.”
