In her journey of working as an executive search for eight years, Karina Saridewi realised that there are two crucial things in this human capital recruitment field. “First, it’s about the extensive market knowledge and in-depth understanding of corporate dynamics to be able to understand organisation pain points and act as an advisor to both clients and candidates. Second, good Emotional Intelligence is compulsory to bridge the needs between clients and candidates,” said the EMBA holder from the National University of Singapore and California State Polytechnic University graduate.
With interest in giving a greater impact to human capital development at Mid Managerial to C levels amidst heightened talent scarcity within the region, Karina quit her professional career and co-founded WeNetwork Asia in 2020. The Jakarta and Singapore-based company aims to support clients in developing its organisation by matching them with potential employees who can fit in from the technical skills, soft skills requirements and the client’s culture. WeNetwork Asia also provides career advisory and market insight to their candidates to support them in building their career portfolios.

To achieve greatness, Karina is proud to say that the work climate at WeNetwork Asia is based on three main values. Those three characteristics are responsiveness, empathy, and resiliency, which lead to creating service excellence and building a long-term partnerships with clients and candidates. With less than three years of work after its founding, WeNetwork Asia has covered the vast majority of technology companies in its portfolio. They consist of early-stage to late-series startups, with most of them in need of candidates at the managerial level. Their second most important pillar is also local companies, both private and public listed, varied across a few sectors such as property, retail, healthcare, and the energy sector.
Currently, WeNetwork Asia is pushing its focus on multinational companies, which, when the pandemic hits, were doing worker rationalisations due to cost efficiency. In the near future, Karina, as the company director, hopes that WeNetwork can enhance its impact in the Southeast Asia region. To do so, the company is currently doing intensive communications and collaborations with potential partners in Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand. “With the advancement in the digital developments, we also see the possibility to enter some of these countries remotely as the initial mode of entrance,” she said on the strategy.
