Don't miss the show from the skies on the morning of 13 August 2021!
Watch up to 100 meteors streaking across the morning sky per hour on its peak month. Need not worry if you missed today's Perseids meteor shower as you can still get a chance to watch the shower in the early morning of 13 August 2021.
The August Perseids often take place every year around this time and is more visible as the moon won't be around to steal the show. And this year's August Perseids, however, is said to be the brightest. Even the faintest meteors can be seen through clear skies!

How to view the August Perseids
When the sky is free from haze or light pollution, you will be able to view 30 to 100 meteors blazing across the sky per hour.
- Observe its peak either in the late evening or early morning. It's best viewed in the Northern Hemisphere during pre-dawn but may also be seen starting 10pm.
- Try to travel somewhere where there are darker skies. You can stargaze at Manila Bay, Emilio Aguinaldo Highway, Big Handy's Grounds in Taytay, or even at the highest roof deck you can get to.
- The wider the view, the better the show will be.
Although there is no specific time given, it's best to follow the tips to get a good look at meteors blazing overhead.

Don't feel down if you don't get to see the meteor shower. Although the next meteor showers will not be as bright as this month's, you can still watch them from home with clear skies.
There'll be more to see as long as the Earth is turning and passing through a trail of debris that's been left by a comet or asteroid. On a closer look, these meteors are composed of bits of rocks and ice tailing comets as they move around the sun.
