Minister Desmond Lee will be the guest of honour of the event on June 2
Since the groundbreaking United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) last November, the world has been doubling down on efforts to reduce our environmental impact and turn things around for the future of our planet.
Many companies and organisations have been investing in plant-based meat products and reusable items, as well as pushing corporations to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions.

One such local group is the Women in Sustainability and Environment (Wise), a non-profit society that was launched last year by philanthropist Trina Liang-Lin. Wise aims to bring women into the sustainability space and include them in the fight for greater green participation.
Now, in support of its mission and in conjunction with World Environment Day, Wise will be holding a “Women in Sustainability and the Built Environment” panel on June 2 to discuss key issues related to global CO2 emissions.
The panel will see the participation of environmental heavyweights such as Esther An, the chief sustainability officer of City Developments Limited, Yvonne Lim, the group director for physical planning at the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore (URA), and Leong-Kok Su Ming, the managing director of BCA Academy.
Other panellists include Nina Yang, the chief executive officer of SJ CityGlobal and Yvonne Soh, the executive director of the Singapore Green Building Council.

They will discuss the significant issues seen in the building industry—which is currently generating about 40 per cent of global CO2 emissions—and what is being done to address these concerns and move forward.
Additionally, the panel will be graced by the Singapore minister for national development and the minister-in-charge of social services integration, Mr Desmond Lee, who will be the guest of honour.
