The online fashion giant has been launching pop-up stores across Japan since the beginning of the year, with the latest one in Osaka

Online fashion retailer Shein is set to open its first permanent physical space on November 13 at Tokyo's fashion precinct, Harajuku.

The store is said to have two stories and cover a space measuring 201 sqm. It will sell items and styles that cater to the Japanese market, with customers being able to make their purchase by scanning a QR code on each product's tag using the Shein mobile app.

The opening of the store in the Japanese capital follows the launch of its pop-up store in Osaka, which will be open until January 27, 2023.

Shein was founded in 2008 by reclusive Chinese entrepreneur Chris Xu. It is known for its affordable clothing, which is sold to more than 150 locations, though not to consumers in its home country of China. Its most profitable market is said to be the United States. The company is currently valued at US$100 billion.
