The eight Ivy League schools—Brown, Harvard, Cornell, Princeton, Dartmouth, Yale, and Columbia—now offer free online courses across multiple disciplines, including computer science, data science, programming, humanities, business, art and design, science, social sciences, health and medicine, engineering, education and teaching, mathematics, and personal development.
While you won’t necessarily cross the stage in a cap and gown or receive an official diploma, having access to Ivy League-level courses at your fingertips means you can finally take the deep dive into that hobby or passion you’ve been pushing to the side—whether that means enrolling in Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies or Buddhism and Modern Psychology, offered through Princeton, or Shakespeare’s Life and Work or Fundamentals of Neuroscience at Harvard.

Each course varies in time commitment and material, but most entry-level classes require a commitment of about two to five hours per week—and run for around six weeks total.
If you’re not ready to commit to full-time studying, some courses are entirely self-paced so you can study mindfully and more in depth if you prefer to take your time or don’t have a lot of free hours to spare.
