On the evening of September 25, seven entrepreneurs from the Gen.T community battled it out for The R.A.W. Prize—a HK$500,000 grant to support an organisation that positively impacts responsible consumption.
Standing for Responsibility, Awareness and Wonder, the R.A.W. Prize is a collaboration between Gen.T and Luxarity, a social initiative of the Lane Crawford Joyce Group.
Selected from dozens of applicants, the seven entrepreneurs—six of them Gen.T honourees—pitched themselves and their companies to the panel of judges in hope of winning the prize, which includes mentorship opportunities and access on top of the grant.
The finalists were Alessandro Bisagni, founder of green engineering consultancy BEE; Raja Jesrina Arshad, co-founder of online wellness community PurelyB; Sissi Chao, founder of creative upcycling firm REmakeHub; Walden Lam, co-founder of sustainable denim startup Unspun; Sonalie Figueiras, founder of impact media platform Green Queen; Meghan Kerrigan, co-founder of sustainable water startup Generation Water; and Tamsin Thornburrow, founder of zero waste store Live Zero.
After an intense session of deliberation by the judges, Gen.T honouree Sissi Chao of REmakeHub was announced the winner. Look out for more on Sissi, and the impact she intends to make with the R.A.W. Prize, on Gen.T's channels over the next few weeks.
