For our Connect To Change event in Malaysia, Gen.T hosted a session of storytelling and sharing in partnership with charity Yayasan Chow Kit, which works with at-risk children in Kuala Lumpur.

Gen.T honourees Bryan Loo, Raja Jesrina Arshad, Ivanna Salehudin and Dahlia Nadirah each hosted a table of teenagers from Yayasan Chow Kit's KrashPad shelter, sharing their stories and reaching out to the children during an emotional afternoon.

Bryan, who overcame seemingly insurmountable odds in his own journey to launch his homegrown bubble tea brand Tealive, taught the basics of business to the school children at his table. Ivanna, co-founder of health tech company Nova Satra DX, leaned on her wit and humour to interact with her boisterous teenagers.

In her sharing session, PurelyB's Raja Jesrina focused on the importance of self-care, even demonstrating a simple breathing exercise to help the students reduce their stress levels. Dahlia, founder of So.lek cosmetics, shared how she followed her dream to build her own business.

Despite an earlier schedule conflict, Biji-Biji Initiative's Rashvin Pal Singh turned up to support the event during the afternoon tea break and mingle with the gathered teenagers.

The mission of the Connect To Change programme is to bring the Gen.T community together to create positive impact, partnering with local charities across Asia and activating the skills of our honourees to benefit the charity and help its founders achieve their goals.
