Jill Tang, Inen Vai and guest

On April 10, the first Gen.T Connect session was held at Tatler House in Shanghai. Organised by our ambassador Jill Tang, the afternoon featured discussions and activities centred around one of Gen.T Connect's four core themes, "Reviving the Human Touch In Leadership".

Three experts were invited to share their insights with guests on how to practise mindfulness in work and in life. They were mindful meditation practitioner Inen Vai, mindfulness coach Nicky Chen and executive coach Ana Ramos-Prudhommeaux, who has worked with Fortune 500 companies on leadership performance and communication. Guests also networked and shared notes during a Lego Serious Play session.

At the end of the session, guests left with a number of key takeaways, says Tang. "We learned that mindfulness has four key pillars: be present, be observant, be non-judgemental, and have love and compassion."

"We shouldn't only be mindful when life isn't going our way; it is helpful to always be centered and self-aware whether you're going through a positive or negative experience."

Gen.T Connect is an open-source, ambassador-led event programme from Gen.T. You can also read Jill Tang's notes and key learnings from the session.
