Last year, the Gen.T community raised US$35,000 to build a library in rural Cambodia. In early 2020, Gen.T will take a delegation of honourees to officially open the library in what will be our first Gen.T Travel Experience—mission and impact-driven travel experiences curated to inspire our community.

As well as the visit to the school to engage with the students and officially open the library, the two-day trip will include a symposium—featuring talks and sharing sessions with inspirational speakers—as well as a tour of startups in the country’s capital, Phnom Penh.

We are hosting a number of year-end networking events for honourees and the wider Gen.T community over the holiday season. In Kuala Lumpur, our gathering takes place in the same week as the Obama Foundation Asia-Pacific Summit, and we will be hosting honourees from across Asia who are in town for the event.

Three Gen.T honourees and a member of the Tribe—the expert panel that nominates names for the Gen.T List—will speak about AI, innovation and the tech trends that will define the next decade at this second instalment of the Enter The World Of event series. Tribe member Royce Hong will give a keynote alongside Gen.T honourees Sega Cheng, Daniel Chou and Jack Chao.

Gen.T is partnering with the Lane Crawford Joyce Group's Luxarity initiative to support an organisation that's creating positive impact through responsible consumption. 

The R.A.W. Prize—Responsibility, Awareness and Wonder—will support a member of the Gen.T community whose for-profit or non-profit project focuses on creating impact through responsible consumption.

The winner of The R.A.W. Prize will receive a HKD$500,000 grant, enabling them to further develop their project, as well as additional benefits, mentorship and access. 

The eight finalists will pitch to judges from Gen.T and Luxarity on the R.A.W. Night, with one winner going home with the prize at the end of the evening.

Gen.T will host a talk in Manila on the subject of startup funding, the first event under a new Enter The World Of series. Gen.T honourees speaking will include Paulo Campos, co-founder of Zalora Philippines; and Mica F Tan, co-founder of private equity firm MFT Group. They will be joined by Jason Fong, CEO of Allianz Global Investments Singapore, to give an institutional POV.

The Gen.T Table event series combines a dinner and panel discussion. August's event is focused on sustainability, taking a look at the balance entrepreneurs must make between operating sustainably and short-term profits. The event is co-hosted with Channel News Asia's CNA Luxury.

Venue Shanghai Powerlong Museum 

Shanghai is the first stop on international new media art group Motse's tour of its exhibition Over and Over Again. The work is comprised of 17 large-scale pieces in various forms—including interactive visuals, mechanical devices and sculptures—around the theme "addiction and pleasure". Gen.T honourees will have an exclusive first-look of the exhibition, featuring a networking event and a private tour.

Gen.T is partnering with Photofairs to curate a private tour for Gen.T honourees. The photography fair brings together 50 forward-thinking contemporary galleries from across China and around the world to showcase leading photography from over 700 artists. As well as the fair, Photofairs features a public programme of curated exhibitions, talks and site-specific artists’ projects.
