This weekend, Female Entrepreneurs Worldwide (FEW) is hosting its third annual Female Entrepreneurs Day—this time in Shenzhen. The day-long event is firmly focused on female leadership, but it’s anything but linear. “It’s a day for learning, feeling inspired and making meaningful connections,” says Ines Gafsi, co-founder of FEW. Here are five reasons you should attend.

1. There’s a strong line-up of powerful women speakers

Topping the bill is Chinese couture designer Guo Pei, who will speak on the topic “The Secret to Success”. In addition, a roster of high-level speakers will contribute to panel discussions throughout the day. Topics include building a workplace culture to attract talent, female leadership and #SheForShe. Generation T listers Ruth Chao, Yen Kuok and Joanna Lui Hickox will feature on the panel “Female Entrepreneurs of the New Generation”.

2. It’s not your typical conference

As well as a strong programme of speakers, Female Entrepreneurs Day includes a number of Experiential Corners. Be sure to check out the curated marketplace, the yoga and meditation area, and the photoshoot experience, which includes hair and make-up.

3. It’s just across the border

FEW hosts its flagship annual conference in a different city every year, as a means to establish new communities and grow its network across Asia. After the inaugural event in Hong Kong in 2016 the conference moved to Shanghai, and this year is in Shenzhen. Female Entrepreneurs Day is unlikely to take place in our neighbourhood again for a while—so make the most of it while you can.

4. For the networking

A total of 300 entrepreneurs, professionals and creatives are expected at the conference. Business matching sessions and networking breaks are placed throughout the programme, emphasising the importance FEW places on building connections that add value.

5. For the afterparty

At the end of the conference, drinks and canapes will be served at the official afterparty, which will feature a performance from up-and-coming Mongolian rapper, Mrs.M.

UPDATE: Due to the expected approach of Typhoon Mangkhut on Sunday, Female Entrepreneurs Day has been postponed. The conference has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 27 at the same venue, the Hilton Shenzhen Shekou Nanhai. Existing tickets are still be valid for the new date; refunds will be given for those who cannot attend. For updates, check the Female Entrepreneurs Worldwide website.
