Thailand-based Freshket, which seeks to create fairer pricing and greater transparency in the food supply chain, has raised US$23.5 million in Series B funding. The round was led by PTT Oil and Retail Business and participated in by others including OpenSpace Ventures and Orzon Ventures.

Freshket was co-founded in 2017 by Ponglada “Bell” Paniangwet, a 2021 Gen.T honouree, and Saran Chiwtanasuntorn, to utilise technology to more efficiently offer and deliver fresh produce from farms to homes and businesses.

“We want to streamline the supply chain process and make it more efficient, to help [local] food growers and producers sell their products at a better price, to help buyers get their food supplies at a reasonable price and allow us, Freshket, to get revenue and continue to improve our food supply chain platform,” says Paniangwet.

The platform currently offers more than 7,000 products, from meats to fruits to dry food, and has worked with over 4,500 restaurants, cafes, hotels across Thailand.

The fresh funds will be used to enhance its supply chain technology, service efficiency and product offerings, as well as develop technology to reduce food waste.
