Here are five women entrepreneurs in Indonesia who are working to smash that glass ceiling

Indonesia is set to become the world’s fourth largest economy by 2050, according to accounting firm PWC. As the country continues to grow into a major global player, its ability to retain and attract female entrepreneurs has also grown––which will be vital for its continued economic growth.

Indonesian women achieved "gender equality in entrepreneurial activity rate" in 2019, according to the Mastercard Index of Women Entrepreneurs, with their numbers growing in recent years.

But in Indonesia as well as the rest of the world, women entrepreneurs still face gender-based barriers. The World Bank, for example, highlights the financing gap faced by women-owned enterprises, identifying it as one of the highest-return opportunities available in emerging markets such as Indonesia.

Whether through fashion startups or e-commerce companies, here are five Indonesian women on the Gen.T List who are working to smash the glass ceiling.
