1. Everything Everywhere All at Once

Hotdog fingers, laundry, and taxes—all in one movie. Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert's Everything Everywhere All at Once an ageing family immigrant who can jump from one multiverse to another. At its core, the film offers a brand new take on nihilism while providing tear-jerking lines and comedic banter.

2. The Menu

Mark Mylod's The Menu is an appetising treat for comedy-thriller loving cinephiles. It follows Margot (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Tyler (Nicholas Hoult) who travel and dine at a remote exclusive restaurant where respected chef Slowik (Ralph Fiennes) is about to serve a lavish menu with one gutting twist.

3. Pearl

Mia Goth has served such an outstanding performance in Ti West's Pearl. In the film, the titular character feels trapped on her family's remote farm. Most of the time, she tends to her ailing father under the overbearing watch of her strict mother. Influenced by the glamorous life she's seen in the movies, Pearl begins to have bigger, darker ambitions.

4. Barbarian

There's a stranger staying inside the Airbnb you just booked...what could possibly go wrong? Zach Cregger's Barbarian follows Tess Marshall (Georgina Campbell) who decides to stay in a place that is mistakenly double-booked. As the story progresses, she begins to discover that there is much more to be afraid of in the house than the other guest.

 

5. Turning Red

Thirteen-year-old Mei is experiencing all the twist and turns of being a teenager. She deals with a curse that seems to plague her family for years–when she gets too excited, she transforms into a big red panda.
