Held at Park Royal Marina Bay, this insightful afternoon will gather the leaders from IBM, HTX, A*Star, DHL and more to share stories and lessons on innovation, advocacy, agility and diversity—and how they're putting Singapore on the global map
Undoubtedly, the world has been transformed by technology. Beyond the way we work and connect daily—which has evolved way beyond previous generations could ever imagine—advancements in artificial intelligence have not only personalised but optimised the efficiency of things like medical conditions’ detection, while augmented reality developments have helped us trouble shoot technical challenges remotely. This, while also elevating the gaming industry with hyper-realistic immersive environments, and how we romanticise life through rose-coloured lenses (read: filters) on social media.
Part of this four-day IBM event is the IBM Women Leaders Forum, an afternoon hosted in partnership with Tatler Singapore, in conjunction with International Women’s Day. For more than 100 years, IBM has been commitment to employing and empowering women, and together with Tatler’s Front & Female initiative, we have invited leading women and allies from various fields to share their stories of success and struggle, to connect, and to be inspired by ideas on innovation, agility, performance and engagement—for both business success and societal impact.

Following an opening speech by Ng Lai Yee, managing partner and Singapore country leader, IBM Consulting, expect a leaders panel discussion on “Turning Advocacy into Action”, featuring Annie Sng, director, Intel Programme Management, Home Team Science and Technology; Karen Tan, CIO, DHL Express Singapore; Janet Ang, nominated member of parliament, and chairman of Singapore Polytechnic and Sistic.com; and Vincent Tay, partner, public sector and healthcare, IBM Consulting; moderated by Rachel Duffell, regional content director, Front & Female, Tatler Asia. We’ll hear from these trailblazers on how organisations can create bold breakthroughs for the advancement of women and reap the business benefits from a more gender-balanced leadership towards a fairer and more inclusive Singapore.
We’ll also have Charu Mahajan, partner, corporate ventures and IBM Garage, IBM Consulting APAC D&I council chair, to give us a preview and insights from IBM’s 2023 Global Women in Leadership Study; followed by two stellar Singaporean women features. First is a fireside chat with national swimmer and two-time Olympian, Quah Ting Wen and Tatler Singapore's branded content director, Dana Koh, on the topic “Mind over Matter: Training one’s mental muscle to self-motivate, elevate and regain your power”. Zooming in on the importance of mental strength in the sporting arena, Quah will be opening up about her journey growing up under the pressures of being a Singaporean sportswoman, how she trains and nurtures both emotional and mental resilience to continuous break boundaries in and out of the pool, while also mentoring the next generation of young, budding athletes.

Second is a talk by doctor Li Jingmei, group leader at the Genome Institute of Singapore, A*Star on the “Science of Women: Innovating the way breast cancer is detected through DNA and data-driven science”. A National Research Foundation Singapore fellow and award-winning scientist, Li is dedicating her life’s work to the target prevention of breast cancer. Here, she’ll share how she’s harness genome research and data intelligence to optimise early detection, and what she’s doing to put Singapore on the map in the field of medical science, all while making mammographic screening programmes more effective by personalising them to the level of individual risk.
Following these engaging talks, we have a uniquely Singaporean experience with a bean-to-bar journey of sustainable Asian chocolate hosted by Fiona Ting, executive chef of Mr Bucket Chocolaterie. And finally, a closing address by Agnes Heftberger, general manager and technology leader of IBM South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Korea, to culminate the insightful afternoon.
