Go Negosyo collaborates with the Department of Trade and Industry to equip Filipina entrepreneurs in the MSME sector with access to mentorship and market opportunities
When a woman rises, she is not only fighting for her autonomy as an individual but also paving the way for future women to rise alongside her. This fight does not happen overnight or only through grand gestures. It is the culmination of small actions built over time, with a network that provides guidance and encouragement.
This vision propels Go Negosyo today, as it works with the Department of Trade and Industry to support Filipino women in their micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). They do this by giving these women access to three key factors: money, market and mentorship opportunities. The last of these three components is the most important, as it is the groundwork for women to achieve their dreams.

Last August 5, Go Negosyo unveiled its upcoming plans to support women in MSMEs through a cocktail party at the Manila Polo Club. Members also took the opportunity to introduce the new Department of Trade and Industry’s new acting secretary, Cristina Roque. The atmosphere was one of great excitement about the plans to uplift the livelihoods of Filipinas in the MSME sector.
Go Negosyo seeks to build a community that is “bold yet nurturing; determined yet versatile; independent yet collaborative,” they shared in their video highlighting Filipina entrepreneurs in action.

After this inspiring video, the founder of Go Negosyo, Joey Concepcion, gave an inspiring speech. He talked directly to the women involved in the MSME scene, saying: “We will help you, but in the end, it is your passion and your perseverance that will take you to the finish line.”
The Go Negosyo team empowers women on both the individual and communal levels, ensuring that they have the specific tools to start their businesses. One such tool is marketing their products to a digital audience. To aid these Filipinas, Go Negosyo has included influencers and content creators on their team. These individuals provide Filipina entrepreneurs with compelling strategies to reach a new generation of consumers.

After Joey Concepcion’s speech, Secretary Roque shared her insights and upcoming plans. According to her, 99 per cent of the business sector is composed of MSMEs, 60 per cent of which is women. As such, it is crucial to uplift the women who serve as the backbone of our economy today.
She also highlighted the collaborative, encouraging atmosphere achieved through the Go Negosyo program. These established female entrepreneurs leverage their strength and wisdom to the benefit of Filipinas throughout the country. “These women play a pivotal role in driving economic growth and creating jobs for the Filipinos,” said Sec. Roque. “Tonight, we celebrate the involvement of the big sister, women entrepreneurs who are instrumental in helping our micro-entrepreneurs grow, thrive and level up.”
Strategic and specific: according to Sec. Roque, those two words are key to pushing this advocacy forward. The Go Negosyo mentors' ability to help other women navigate challenges and seize opportunities is invaluable. By working together, this community inspires other women to follow wherever their dreams lead them. This collective effort not only benefits individual entrepreneurs but also strengthens the overall economic and social fabric, paving the way for even more women to thrive in MSMEs.
