Conversations about building responsible and purposeful businesses flowed all night at the latest edition of the Tatler Table series, which Singapore Tatler co-hosted with Essec Business School Asia-Pacific. About 20 Generation T listers attended, alongside other young entrepreneurs from various industries such as F&B, design, technology and media. The vibrant chatter in the room only simmered down mid-way through dinner—a four-course meal prepared by mezza9—when Jan Ondrus, a recognised thought leader and associate professor of information systems, decision sciences and statistics at Essec, gave an insightful 20min presentation about new sustainable business models that companies should look into in order to future-proof themselves. He cited Uber, Airbnb and WeChat as examples of companies utilising a digital platform business model that connects their users and encourages collaboration and cross-pollination.
