The new clinic will be offering clients the latest treatments for the skin and body, cosmetic injectables as well as laser hair removal at their new clinic.

In fact, Laser Clinics is known for being the leading provider of advanced beauty treatments in their 165 clinics across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and now Singapore so their expertise only aims to elevate Privé Clinic’s already extensive set of treatments. This collaboration also marks the beginning of Laser Clinics expansion into Asia.

In honour of their new venture, Tatler sits down with Laser Clinics’ general manager of Asia, Sona Rai Aggarwal and Dr Karen Soh, Privé Clinic’s founder, to find out more about their new collaboration.

Sona is an accomplished commercial retailer with 23 years of experience in fashion and beauty retail across South East Asia, Australia and North America. She spent eight years as the regional general manager for Victoria’s Secret and Bath and Body Works and in that time, she grew the business to 140 stores across eight countries. In 2020, Sona joined Laser Clinics Australia as its strategic advisor before moving on to become its general manager this year.

Dr Karen Soh on the other hand has spent most of her life training in dermal and hair fillers, non-surgical facelift, anti-ageing treatments, skin resurfacing, lasers, light therapies, and a variety of minimally invasive body enhancement and body contouring treatments. She started Privé Clinic in 2010 and has continued to grow the brand over the last 11 years. With the rebranding, Soh will continue to be the clinic director in addition to taking on a new role of medical director for Laser Clinics Singapore.

So what can you can expect from this new collaboration? We find out what it means below.

Can you tell us what this collaboration means for both Prive and Laser Clinics?

Sona Aggarwal (SA): For Laser Clinics Group, it is the start of an incredible chapter in a new continent that is at the cutting edge of aesthetic technology. Consumer demand for world-class aesthetic treatments in Asia is growing at an exponential rate and we are delighted to partner with Dr Karen Soh from Privé Clinic, an established and respected clinician in Singapore, who shares our vision for success and growth.

Karen Soh (KS): Having been in the aesthetic industry for more than 10 years, we have extensive in-depth knowledge and understanding of our consumers’ demands. The collaboration with Laser Clinics Group takes Privé Clinic to the global level and enables us to combine our valuable insights and industry expertise to offer the best results for our customers.

What can clients expect from this collaboration, and how does it benefit them?

SA: The newly rebranded clinic, Laser Clinics Singapore at Privé, will continue to offer premium treatments from the existing extensive menu. We hope that our collaboration will enable us to offer these treatments and communicate our deep clinical experience to a broader audience, attract new customers to the brand, while retaining our valued existing loyal customers.

Our focus is to educate new customers on the safety and efficacy of our treatments and deliver “Beauty Tailored to You” in every sense of the word.

What were the challenges you faced when opening up the clinic here, especially during a pandemic?

SA: To be honest, I have been very fortunate to have met incredible doctors, staff, advisors who have all been extremely adaptable and supportive.

So, the challenges have really been around the uncertainty of when restrictions would ease and when customers can freely come back into the clinic. Getting the right staff has been also been a bit of a challenge given the current job market.

Last but not least, commercial real estate is tumultuous at the moment—rental costs on Orchard Road are lower, but the heartland occupancy costs are at an all-time high. We want to be in the heartlands, so that is making things a bit more complicated right now.

What are some treatments that are exclusively available at Laser Clinics Singapore at Prive?

SA: The partnership will bring together the expertise from both Laser Clinics Group in laser hair removal and Privé Clinic’s in skincare to provide expert solutions for all skin, face, body and hair needs while leveraging Privé Clinic’s current extensive menu.

Some of the highlight treatments at the clinic include our popular facial contouring services using botulinum toxins and filler, as well non-invasive skin tightening treatments done with the highest medical standards and the use of clinically proven equipment, innovative technologies and superior products.

What are some treatments that are most popular with Singaporeans, and how does the new clinic seek to elevate them?

SA: Singapore, like many other Asian markets, is a ‘skin first market, where customers are always looking for ‘glowing skin’. That is the core of our business at Laser Clinics Singapore at Privé, whether it is pre-emptive care like anti-ageing or problem-solving like addressing acne, pigmentation and skin tightening.

We have a very successful injectables business (botox and fillers) and interestingly, more and more men are open to aesthetic treatments, especially body sculpting. Additionally, we are just at the start of our laser hair removal journey.
