CEO of motorcycle-taxi Angkas and 2019 Gen.T honouree Angeline Tham wins it big at the Asia CEO Awards 2022
Asia CEO Awards represents the grandest alliance of local and international business people ever created to promote Philippines. And this year, the institution proudly announces the Circle of Excellence (COE) awardees for 2022.
In a statement made by Asia CEO Awards Chairman Richard Mills, more than 400 nominations from the nation's most important and prestigious organizations an leaders were received. “The Circle of Excellence awardees are an impressive group who are making gigantic contributions to the nation’s development,” added Mills.
The Asia CEO Awards have been bringing senior leaders from all across the Philippines and the world to celebrate their successes and contributions and have been carrying on this tradition for a decade. This year's theme, "The Real Deal," leads to one of the grandest business awards in the region.
According to Asia CEO Awards' President, Rebecca Bustamante, awardees are chosen for "their achievements and contributions to clients, staff, and the nation."
Among those leaders who went on to be awarded the Circle of Excellence is 2019 Gen.T honouree and co-founder of Angkas, Angeline Tham.
Awarded Expatriate Executive of the year, Angeline Tham of Angkas has come a long way in developing the motorcycle-taxi company that shook up the way we travel. Angkas, which has been downloaded more than 1.5 million times and boasts an impeccable, 99.99 percent safety record, did not have a smooth start. Founded in 2017, Tham first conceptualized the motorcycle-hailing app when she found herself stuck in a six-hour gridlock of terrible traffic. Her tenacity, determination, and flexibility in keeping Angkas afloat despite of all the hardship that it had faced over the years make this award all the sweeter.
