The Eve Hotel Sydney

A centrepiece of the new Wunderlich Lane precinct at the boundary of Surry Hills and Redfern, The Eve trades standard corporate gloss for a warm, neighbourhood-focused identity. Architect Adam Haddow and interior designer George Livissianis relied heavily on raw, tactile materials: sandblasted travertine, glazed terracotta, exposed concrete, all tied together with custom joinery.

While the materials are heavy, ample breathing space is created with large windows, lush private balconies and a ns onto a central courtyard by landscape artist Daniel Baffsky. Upstairs, a 20-metre rooftop pool lined with green Sukabumi tiles perfectly suits Sydney's "no worries vibe", complemented by Lottie, a rooftop Mexican restaurant with views stretching over the southern suburbs.
