The Calile Hotel

A retro inspired hotel elevating hospitality in Sunny Brisbane
The Calile Hotel, situated in the heart of the chic James Street precinct in Fortitude Valley, redefines the city stay as an integrated sub-tropical urban resort. Designed by Richards & Spence, the architecture is a masterful study in "gentle brutalism," utilising a limited palette of white brick, expressed concrete and natural materials like cork and travertine. The building itself is porous, embracing Brisbane’s climate with naturally-ventilated corridors, open-air breezeways and rooms featuring spacious balconies.
The resort's heart is its 30m swimming pool, surrounded by palm trees, sun lounges and private cabanas, creating a glamorous hub reminiscent of those in Miami or Palm Springs. Dining is a major draw, featuring the celebrated poolside Greek restaurant Hellenika, the sophisticated SK Steak & Oyster and the refined Sushi Room, among others. Wellness is covered by the luxurious KAILO Medispa and a well-equipped 24/7 gym.
Tatler Tip: The Calile has a gorgeous little rooftop garden, which supplies some of the ingredients used in the hotel’s restaurants. Ask about workshops with the rooftop gardener.
