Its name, meaning "stars" in Arabic, reflects the region's heritage of celestial navigation - we highly recommend dedicating an evening to the complimentary private astronomer-led stargazing session to learn about the night sky using your villa’s telescope and the region's ancient folklore.

The resort features 63 lavish villas—both beachfront and overwater—designed by Foster + Partners with distinctive shell-inspired architecture and interiors enriched with local Saudi artistry. No matter which room you choose, each villa includes a private pool, panoramic sea views and a telescope for even more stargazing.

There are multiple dining options, but our favourite has to be Tabrah. A perfect marriage of laidback interiors and refined cuisine, this seafood restaurant celebrates the sea's bounty that has nurtured the fisherman's family through the ages. The menu features the daily catch and local produce. 

Guests receive ultra-personalised service from their dedicated host, known as a Najm or Najma, who curates every aspect of the stay. Activities are centered on the environment and culture, from diving the world’s fourth-largest barrier reef at the Galaxea Dive Center to attending cultural talks at the Conservation House.
