Buahan, A Banyan Tree Escape
Bali, Indonesia

No walls, no doors, a whole lot of love for the natural world
Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape, sits in a quiet enclave surrounded by rice paddies and jungle in Bali’s majestic highlands. Pioneering a “no walls, no doors” concept throughout the property and its 16 private villas, Buahan encourages a deep connection with the natural world. The entire resort was constructed from recycled Ulin wood, or ironwood, from the Kalimantan region, previously used on local piers and the decks of fishing boats. At the resort’s heart are the Open Kitchen and Living Room, where guests are invited to discover its zero-waste, farm-to-table concept and local sourcing philosophy. The Botanist Bar is centred around the use of locally grown ingredients and botanicals, while Toja Spa celebrates the wellness traditions of neighbouring Buahan village and the surrounding area.
