Bawah Reserve
Riau Islands, Indonesia

Isolated luxury spread across six jungle-covered islands in the Anambas archipelago
The resort is set in the Anambas archipelago—one of Indonesia’s first marine conservation areas—and comprises six jungle-covered islands spread across three lagoons and 13 beaches. Spend your days hiking through the rainforest, exploring caves and virtually untouched lagoons, or diving and snorkelling among vibrant sea life, which includes turtles and clownfish. Adopting a light-footed approach to the area’s fragile ecosystem, conservation is at the fore of Bawah Reserve’s ethos. Its 36 villas are built from sustainable bamboo, driftwood and natural, recycled materials. There’s also a field of floating solar panels, a rainwater catchment and water desalination systems, a plastic-free policy and a successful coral restoration programme.
