Colonial Dutch majesty inside UNESCO-listed Galle Fort
Situated inside the walls of the 17th-century UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, Amangalla occupies a grand Dutch colonial building that dates back to 1684. The hotel has preserved some of the historic property's most charming details, like original polished teak floors, high ceilings, antique four-poster beds and ornatechandeliers.
Guests can unwind in the serene, hedge-lined swimming pool or the subterranean Baths, which feature hydrotherapy pools, saunas, and traditional Ayurvedic treatments. High tea is served daily on the open-air veranda overlooking church steeples and ancient ramparts.
