Jing Hui Jian, chairman of Hong’s Foundation for Education and Culture, has been a prominent figure in Taiwan’s arts and culture scene since the ‘60s. The Foundation, where Jian was former CEO, was established by her father-in-law Hong Jianquan in 1971 and has been promoting classical art, music, and literature through experimental education since. Projects such as the “Book Review Bibliography” and the Jian-quan Hong Audiovisual Library have supported the local arts scene for decades. In 1995, the foundation created the Minlong Lecture Hall, where Jian brought classics to a new generation of students.　　

Jian was also the former CEO of the National Culture and Arts Foundation. She was the 7th Outstanding Young Women in the 10th National Congress of the Republic of China in 1966. In 2008, she was selected as one of the 48 Asian philanthropists by Forbes magazine. In 2014, she established Project Seeking, through which she sponsored and promoted new contemporary artists.
