Architect Ziyu Zhuang became widely known by the Chinese general public for his appearance on the reality show Beautiful House.

Upon graduating from Hebei University of Technology in 2006, Zhuang proceeded to Columbia University for a Master of Architecture and Urban Design degree. After working at Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects in New York for three years, he came back to his home country to establish the RSAA Beijing office in 2010, together with several renowned German architects. He is also the only Chinese-associated architect of the Cologne-based firm.

In 2016, he co-founded Büro Ziyu Zhuang (BUZZ) Architects, with offices in Beijing and Shanghai in China, as well as in Berlin, Germany. Zhuang’s reputation is built on his award-winning works, such as Zhangjiagang Church, Courtyard No.7 at The Drum Tower, and Tongling Recluse—whose design and development were followed by millions of people when it was featured on Beautiful House.

Moreover, Zhuang’s personal charisma and outstanding taste have also made him the darling of the fashion scene. Zhuang was invited to walk for the Hermès 2018 Spring/Summer menswear fashion show in Shanghai.
