David Chau, one of the most powerful promoters of contemporary Chinese art, has dabbled in diverse fields including finance, real estate, the Internet, fashion and art. He founded Cc Foundation in 2014 to sponsor young people and groups involved in culture and art to encourage various innovative art forms, improve their working environment, and promote the development of contemporary Chinese culture and art and the education surrounding it. In 2016, Cc Foundation sponsored and supported eight art projects. In December 2016, David was named by Artsy as one of 12 new-generation collectors in China. In 2017, Cc Foundation launched the exhibition Social Emotion, showing a selection of works by important artists from home and abroad, including Cao Fei, Chen Tianzhuo, Liu Wei, Liu Xinyi, Mark Hagen, Zhang Enli and Zhang Hui. In 2018, David held the first JINGART art fair in Beijing.
