Serial entrepreneur and real estate baron heading up Yanlord Land Group

Zhong Sheng Jian is the founder, chairman and chief executive of Singapore-listed property firm Yanlord Land Group, the company behind developments such as Leedon Green, Dairy Farm Residences, Malaysia’s The Manhattan and various other properties in China; it is one of the country’s largest real estate developers.

Zhong has been active in trading, manufacturing and real estate in Singapore, Hong Kong and China since the 1980s. He made concerted inroads into property in the 1990s with the establishment of two offices in China, which eventually led to the formation of Yanlord. Besides property development, the company’s business encompasses investment properties such as shipping malls, offices and hotels, as well as property management services. With its acquisition of United Engineers Ltd, the company is currently redeveloping 79 Anson Road into a mixed commercial and residential project.

Zhong also holds a number of other appointments on various boards. His other roles include council member of the Singapore-Tianjin Economic and Trade Council, Singapore-Jiangsu Cooperation Council and the Singapore Guangdong Collaboration Council. He is vice-chairman of the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, vice-president of the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations, and a director of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
