Director Zhi Yan Yi influences Chinese culture through art

Zhi Yan Yi is the director of Dangerous Mind, which won Best Television Series at the Golden Bell Awards in 2007. He graduated from the Department of Foreign Languages ​​at National Chengchi University and studied television and film production at the University of California. His work as a student has won many awards in international student film competitions. After finishing his master’s degree, he returned to Taiwan and worked in the production planning department of the Central Film Corporation. He also worked as a lecturer in the drama department of the Chinese Culture University.

In 1987, Yi directed the short film Grasshopper, then wrote and directed his first feature film Lonely Hearts Club in 1995. In 2002, he directed the film Blue Gate Crossing, which was shortlisted for Best Asian Film at 23rd Hong Kong Film Awards. He was also the chair of the 23rd Taipei Film Festival in 2021.
