Zhang Dalei

Zhang Dalei majored in directing at St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television in Russia. In 2011, Dalei co-directed feature film Cowards with Guo Jialiang and created the soundtrack for the film, going on, in 2014, to co-direct microfilm The Vow with Luo Wei. In 2016, Dalei directed feature film August for which he also served as screenwriter; the film was rated best feature film at the 53rd Golden Horse Award Ceremony and Dalei was nominated for the best new director award and best original screenplay award. The following year, Dalei was named best director and received the best screenplay award at the First Malaysia International Film Festival, and took home the Annual Young Director Prize at the 8th China Film Directors' Guild.
