Staking out that hazy nether region between fast food and fine dining, then 23-year-old former cruise ship cook Zark Varona launched Zark’s Burgers in 2009, promising students and workers quality burgers at affordable prices. Today he has 60 locations and more than 1,000 employees, and was named SGV/EY 2019 Small Business Entrepreneur of the Year.
