Tunku Zain ‘Al-Abidin Tuanku Muhriz is the second son of the ruler of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, and the founding president of Malaysia’s first libertarian think tank, the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS).

He is a regular columnist in several local newspapers, where he shares his thoughts on public policies and speaking out for a better Malaysia.

Tunku Zain is a trustee of Yayasan Chow Kit, Yayasan Munarah and the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation, and was recently appointed the first Pro-Chancellor of UCSI University. Outside the think-tank and public-policy world, Tunku Zain is a great champion of the arts. The accomplished pianist, who is a patron of Hands Percussion and the Euroasia Association of Performing Arts, previously collaborated with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra to revitalise the state anthem of Negeri Sembilan.
