After making her name as a pioneer and record breaker as head of contemporary art in Asia for Sotheby’s, Yuki Terase left in 2021 to establish art advisory firm Art Intelligence Global (AIG) as a founding partner, alongside fellow Sotheby’s alumni Amy Cappellazzo and Adam Chinn. Headquartered in both Hong Kong and New York, AIG offers a wide range of services, including consultancy, sales, and legal and financial assistance, as well as offering specialist services to the likes of family offices, and artists and their estates. In 2022 the company opened its own exhibition space in Hong Kong’s Wong Chuk Hang district. She previously spent 11 years at Sotheby’s, the final three as head of contemporary art in Asia, leading the auction house to new records for the works of artists including Yoshitomo Nara and Yayoi Kusama, as well as moving some of the most valuable western artworks sold in Asia, from artists such as Gerhard Richter and Kaws. She was also the innovator behind a series of celebrity sales, involving the likes of Taiwanese musician Jay Chou, Japanese fashion designer Nigo and K-pop star Choi Seung-hyun, aka T.O.P. Before joining the company, she previously spent five years as an investment banker, working in the mergers and acquisitions division of Morgan Stanley in Tokyo.
