Yuen Kuan Moon

Group CEO, Singtel

The Singtel boss Yuen Kuan Moon has been with the company for almost three decades

Singtel group CEO Yuen Kuan Moon has been with the telecommunications company since 1993, occupying various positions such as CEO of its consumer division and chief digital officer. His experience spans such fields as marketing, business development, retail and channel sales. Yuen took on his current role in January 2021 and is responsible for overseeing Singtel’s subsidiaries as well as its projects.

Most notably, Singtel suffered a cyber-attack not long after Yuen took on his current role; the incident involved the theft of the personal data of about 129,000 of its customers, 23 enterprises and a number of former staff after the telco’s third-party vendor was hacked. Yuen led the conglomerate in its efforts to bring a speedy resolution to the incident; among other measures, the telco appointed a data-and-information services firm to provide free identity monitoring services to affected customers.

An engineering graduate from the University of Western Australia, Yuen also sits on the boards of the Singapore Institute of Management Group and SkillsFuture Singapore, among others. He is also a member of the Advisory Council of the Lifelong Learning Endowment Fund and the Digital Readiness Council at the Ministry of Communications and Information.
