Yu Xiu Chen

An accomplished pianist, civil servant, educator, author, editor, screenwriter, and cultural administrator, Yu-Xiu Chen’s vision is to promote Taiwan as a world-renowned brand and raise the country’s profile in the world even further.

In 2016, she became the chairman of Taiwan Broadcasting System. She previously served as chair of the Executive Yuan's Cultural Construction Committee, the National Policy Advisor of the Presidential Palace, Secretary-General of the National Cultural Association, Chairman of the National Theatre & Concert Hall, and honorary advisor to the Royal Academy of Music.　　

Chen graduated from the Conservatoire Nationale Superieur de Musique de Paris, earning the Prix de Piano and Prix de Musique de Chambre.

In her previous role as Minister of the Council for Cultural Affairs, Chen dedicated her efforts for Taiwan to define its own identity for people to appreciate the country’s cultural and historical place in the world.
