After making its rounds in the film festival circuit, Siew Hua’s 2018 film A Land Imagined won the 71st Locarno Festival’s prestigious Golden Leopard prize. The film also went on to win Best Film in the Asian Feature Film Competition at the Singapore International Film Festival’s Silver Screen Awards, the first Singaporean film to win since the ceremony was launched in 1991.
