Ye Ziyi (Stephanie)

Ye Ziyi specialises in night-sky photography and astronomical science education, and has travelled to more than 20 countries to see special astronomical phenomena. In 2009, she competed in the China National Astronomy Olympiad and won the National Creation Contest. In 2011, she won the national championship of a reality TV show, and became the first volunteer guide at the Beijing Planetarium. In 2013, she went to Kenya to take pictures of a total solar eclipse and photographed the total solar eclipse in the Arctic in 2015. She then became the first Chinese woman to win first prize in the “Beauty of the Night Sky” category in the 2016 International Earth and Sky Photo Contest. Ziyi is a columnist for multiple media, and her works have featured in NASA Image of the Day, Chinese National Geography, Chinese National Astronomy and other well-known media. She also has her own official WeChat account "Zi Tan". As a first-prize winner in the International Earth and Sky Photo Contest and the sole Asian woman to win the Royal Observatory Greenwich's annual photography competition, Ziyi has received a lot of attention.
