Microbes can provide a sustainable alternative to the synthetic chemicals mostly used in the dyeing industry. BloomGem Biotechnology, co-founded by Ye Ting, who has a background in textile dyeing, is pioneering these organic alternatives. As well as creating her own eco-dyeing system, she has also helped to develop a method for cashmere recycling.
