Leo Xu has been one of China’s brightest rising art world stars for the past decade. Since 2011, he has been operating his own gallery Leo Xu Projects in Shanghai, which is committed to reshaping the model of Chinese galleries and linking represented artists to various fields including architecture, publishing, music and drama or placing their creations in different contexts such as public spaces, shopping centres, cyberspace and apps. Leo Xu Projects, since its establishment, has been active in various international activities and art fairs, including Art Basel in Hong Kong and Miami, Frieze Art Fair in London and New York, and Artissima in Turin. In 2016, Leo was selected by Apollo magazine as one of 40 under 40 most inspirational professionals in the Asia-Pacific art world. In 2017, he joined David Zwirner Hong Kong as director.
