Xu Ying has long been engaged in the building of the Beidou Navigation Satellite System. She designed and built the first satellite-terrestrial integrating testing ground for Beidou signal enhancement in China and conducted systematic location tests for navigation signal enhancement. On this basis, she leveraged the satellite platform provided by commercial spaceflight companies and realised the first technology test for Beidou signal enhancement based on low earth orbit satellite in China and designed the system for Beidou signal enhancement based on a near space platform. Ying was expected to conduct the first technology test for Beidou signal enhancement based on aerostat platforms in China in late 2018, so as to truly provide technical support for the building of Beidou enhancement system integrating space, near space, air and ground.
