Xin Yaoyao is a graduate of industrial design from Jiangnan University. Her signature work is her Xuan paper lamp without a skeleton. From 2008 to 2010, Yaoyao’s work won the German Red Dot Design Award and the IF Design Award, and her Xuan paper lamp design project appeared at the Tent London exhibition at the London Design Festival 2010. In 2011, Yaoyao began to travel to and from Jingdezhen to work in ceramics. In 2014, her paper-thin porcelain series was put on show at SaloneSatellite in Milan. Her works are on display in many contemporary design shops and art spaces, hotels and creative centres in Shanghai and Beijing. Furthermore, her works were exhibited at Milan Design Week 2014, Shanghai DOD 2015 and Design Shanghai 2016 and 2017 and a range of other exhibitions. In particular, Yaoyao won widespread praise for her design of shop windows for Hermes in 2016.
