The Shiner Education Foundation CEO Xin Min Wang leads the organization’s efforts to improve rural education in Taiwan. The foundation was established in 2008 but was hit by a devastating typhoon within a few months. This inspired its leaders to focus on where they are needed most and provide disaster area services, material subsidies, and psychological assistance to affected schools. The experience led to its core tenet, which is to enrich the learning experience of students in remote and disadvantaged areas. By providing long-term education and resource assistance through various programs, more than 10,000 children from over 100 underserved elementary schools around Taiwan are now discovering their talents and potential.
