Wulan Tilaar was born to the mother of Indonesian natural cosmetics. Martha Tilaar is a household name who established one of the biggest and oldest beauty companies in Indonesia in the ’70s, which remains known for its use of locally grown ingredients.

Today, Martha Tilaar Group has several subsidiaries. Wulan Tilaar currently sits as company vice-chair, while she holds director positions for Martha Tilaar Spa, Puspita Martha Beauty School and Roemah Martha Tilaar Creative Hub. Tilaar’s latest venture is Ruang Belajar Alex Tilaar, a library and co-working space named after her late father, Prof Alex Tilaar. The library houses about 10,000 books from Prof Tilaar’s collection.

Wulan Tilaar earned her Master’s in advertising from Boston University, USA.
