Wong Tin-Chee

Wong Tin-chee is the founder of Herbalgy Pharmaceutical, a Hong Kong company behind everyday pain-relief staples rooted in traditional Chinese medicine; he also co-founded the Wong To Yick Wood Lock Medicated Balm with his father, respected traditional medicine practicioner and entrepreneur Wong To-yick. Herbalgy grew from a simple aim: to provide accessible, effective relief guided by long-tested remedies rather than over-reliance on modern drugs.

Wong insists on manufacturing in Hong Kong even when offshore production would be cheaper, personally overseeing packaging and instructions to ensure that users are able to treat pain safely. According to market research firm NielsenIQ, Wong To Yick Wood Lock Medicated Balm ranked as Hong Kong’s top muscle pain-relief brand from 2022 to 2025 by both volume and value, underscoring how these household cures have become part of daily life.

His commitment extends beyond the pharmacy shelf. In 2018, he founded Community Med Care, whose Angel Mission has provided over 50,000 free treatments to more than 1,090 children with complex needs. The clinic’s home—a restored pre-war tong lau in Sham Shui Po—reflects his belief in preserving heritage while serving the public good.
