Wong Ping

Sex, violence, politics—nothing is off the table for Hong Kong artist Wong Ping, whose explicit animations have garnered quite a following. Often shocking, at times amusing, his fantastical, flashing works frequently conceal darker messages, using sexual desire, obsession and frustration as a springboard to examine issues of power, control and repression in society as a whole. He has created pieces for M+, Nowness and Prada, and in 2018 was awarded the inaugural Camden Arts Centre Emerging Artist Prize.
