Founder, artistic director, Asian Modern Symphony Orchestra
Conductor Wilson Ng founded Hong Kong’s Asian Modern Symphony Orchestra to champion Asian composers
Wilson Ng is the founder and artistic director of the Asian Modern Symphony Orchestra (AMSO), a Hong Kong ensemble established to spotlight modern symphonic works with Asian roots and to platform regional composers on major stages. The orchestra launched publicly in 2025 with concerts at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre—featuring pianist KaJeng Wong—and subsequent appearances that build Hong Kong–Korea cultural exchange.
Educated and active internationally, Ng has guest-conducted leading European and Asian orchestras and was appointed associate conductor of the Seoul Philharmonic at the age of 28, the youngest in the orchestra’s history. His agenda with AMSO is to gather top players from across the region, commission and revive repertoire by Asian composers, and let symphonic music tell contemporary Asian stories.
